Hello there, and welcome to my website. I’m Alan Stevenson and I hope you enjoy your visit to Blessham Hall.

So why the name Blessham Hall? Well… it’s simple really. The name comes from one of the locations from Ah Boy! my first novel and it’s the place where my primary (and best loved) character, Joe Wilkie, works. And I think it’s a bit more quirky than just plain old Alan Stevenson, don’t you? Besides which, some other so-and-so with the same name as me has already taken that one. And, as a special bonus kick in the teeth, they’re not even using it. Grrrr!!!

But not to worry.

There’s all sorts on here about me and my writing and I’m sure you’ll find something to sustain your attention. The blog in particular is a mighty fine read.

I’m what they call a self-published author, although I much prefer the term “Independent Author”. I just feel it sounds a lot better. Adds a certain finesse to it.

All my novels are outrageous, bawdy comedies and all contain language that would make a fishwife blush. If you’re an open minded person I think you’ll enjoy them. The rudeness isn’t there with intention to shock but to highlight the kind of grubby little world we all live in in the 21st century.
